Mid American Construction was proud to participate in the construction of East Clark School. The 65,000-sf, 19-classroom building accommodates 450 students on the site of an older school structure. As the circa 1891 building was demolished, two pieces of original stone were spared and incorporated into the tower that looms over the entrance to the new school.
Other design features include cafetoriums combining cafeterias and stage auditoriums, an abundance of natural light and windows in every classroom, every room wired for technology including at least four teacher-and-student computers, ceiling-mounted digital projectors, adjustable temperature controls in each room monitored from the district’s headquarters in downtown Cleveland in order to control operational costs, auditory enhancement with wireless microphones for the teachers, so-called “smart boards” in classrooms allowing images to be captured and transferred to the students computers, bright colors used throughout the schools, and large gymnasiums with full basketball courts sporting maple floors.
